Biografie (english)

It took a long time till Sound and noise evolved to a real passion....including a short, not fi nished computer-science study, to learn about the techniques of modern communication. Later his way of education changed directly to music- and communication science. This helped among other things to understand melody and sound designs practically, to compose and to open the “theoretical” gate to interpret the art in general in a different way, like his own tracks too.
The style of funkenstrøm is coloured from diverse house and techno artists. It’s a mix between burning techno, experimental sounds, housy synthlines and a real passion for melody. This creates a very electronic style with elements of acoustic phrases.
With the combination of his performance as liveact the club oriented sound works on the dancefl oor.

Musical projects :

2004 : the musically collaboration with retronic sounds (Max Behn, Olaf Schäfer, Michael Wilkens)
began. That was really forwarding the development
to use the potentials of everybody - in terms of a live music act.

April 2005 :

“fashion playground” was a concept initiated by Maria Fuchs and me (Thomas Oesterreich). It was an indescribable sound made from sewingmachines. The process of sewing was alienated and recorded via notebook to make it danceable. You can hear more of it on aur demo-album....

February 2006 :

fi rst night of “Gentheater” (genetic theatre) at the campus of TU Berlin: dramatic composition, production und sound design by Björn Schäfer, Nils Linscheidt and me

September 2006 :

Founding of symbiont-music together with Mathias Wilkens (tonmodul), Michael Wilkens (mica), Olaf Schäfer (audacious clay), MaxBehn (tonmodul)
